Tutor a GED Student

For those learners who have a firm handle on basic literacy (approximately a 5th grade reading level), but do not yet have their high school diploma or equivalent, we offer free tutoring to prepare for the GED exam. Our GED classes are available in different locations throughout Montgomery County, and offer a 1:1 student:tutor ratio.

Currently our GED program is taught in Gaithersburg, Rockville, and Silver Spring, and always need more volunteers, especially those who can volunteer once a week in these areas.

If you are interested in helping an adult learner in basic math, social studies, and general test preparation, please contact Denise Hill, Director of Community Impact, at denise@lcmcmd.org or (301) 610-0030.

We are also currently looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers who can help some of our Spanish-speaking GED students in Silver Spring! Please contact fidel@lcmcmd.org if this sounds like you!
