About ESL Tutoring

One of our most in-demand programs, adults who did not grow up speaking English as their primary language and need to improve on their speaking, listening comprehension, writing, or reading comprehension of English can be paired for free with a volunteer tutor trained to teach English as a second language, meeting the individualized need of the student’s pace and learning style.

All of our students are given a placement assessment to determine what level and style of instruction best meets their needs. If you or someone you know needs assistance learning or improving upon their English proficiency skills, please contact Ruth Seidenspinner, Tutoring Program Manager, at ruth@lcmcmd.org or (301) 610-0030 to schedule an appointment for a placement test and getting paired with a tutor.
